Request for Initial Evidence I-485
Hi all,

I have filed for adjustment of status based on marriage about one month ago, and already done the fingerprint. Yesterday I received a letter from USCIS saying my I-485 application (adjustment of status) has been suspended because "for the joint sponsor, the income did not meet 125% of the poverty guideline..." and they are asking for more evidence. Now I am confused because in the form I-864 Affidavit of Support which is filled by my joint sponsor, his printed annual income is way above the minimum requirement for his household size. I also included a letter from his current employer and pay stubs from past 3 months which represent his current income as supplementary evidence when I filed. The only thing that I think may have caused the problem is that his Federal Tax information for the past three years doesn't meet the minimum.

It will be great if you can share your experience with me in this matter, specially if you have any info about how they consider the annual income? Based on the current income or income presented in the past years' Tax returns? And What do you suggest me to do now?

Thanks you so much in advance.
