Green Card Arrived!
Hi Everyone,
Great news! My husband’s Green Card arrived in the mail today! First of all we would really like to thank everyone who posted their timelines on this website. It was very helpful, calming and encouraging to read everyone’s stories. That is why we decided to post our timeline in hopes that it might help someone else.

My husband was on a F1 Visa when we married (I am a US citizen) and applied concurrently for I-485, I-130, I-131 and I-765. We mailed our forms to the Chicago location but I believe that our office was in Lee’s Summit Missouri (that is where all of the envelopes were mailed from to us).

Overall from the moment that the USCIS office received our application to when the Green Card arrived in mail was a total of exactly 3 months!

4-30-15- Mailed all of the concurrently filed forms.
5-12-15- Notice stating that USCIS got all of our paperwork and that they started the process as of 5-8-15.
5-12-15-Notice in mail for scheduled biometrics exam for fingerprints for 6-2-15.
6-2-15- Fingerprints given.
6-16-15- Received notice in mail containing details for our interview (set for 7-16-15).
7-15-15- Online status change for the EAD and Advance Parole that it was approved.
7-16-15- Interview. Lasted 20 min total. We were scheduled for 11AM (got there 30min early), the officer called us in at 11:20AM. Sworn in before we sat down. Asked me (US citizen): what is my husband’s birthday, what are the names of my in-laws, how and when did we meet, do our parents know each other and are they good friends. Asked my husband about his current employment. Officer wanted to see the photo album that we brought and she went through the photos and asked my husband to describe to her who was in the photo (it was my college graduation photo with myself, my husband and my mom). She wanted to see if we had a least in both of our names, bills, asked who the medical insurance carrier is and if my husband was on my insurance and wanted a copy of the insurance card, saw the auto and condo insurance policy with both of our names on it. She read through some of the affidavit statements that my boss wrote, my parents, my coworker and my brother in-law wrote stating that our relationship and marriage was real and legitimate. She went through a few photos that had us (the couple) with each of the people who wrote a statement. That was it. She pretty much verbally said that everything looks very positive and that there should be any problems and to expect something within a month.
7-17-15- Online status changed saying that our case was approved for both the I-485 and I-130.
7-20-15- Official approval notice for the EAD and Advance Parole came in the mail. My husband was unemployed for 2 weeks because his OPT expired while we were waiting on the answer for EAD. He had a job waiting for him that he couldn’t start until the EAD arrive. As soon as we received the official EAD Approval Notice in the mail he faxed it to the employer and he was able to start working with that.
7-25-15- Official approval notice for the Green Card came in the mail.
7-31-15- Combo EAD Card/Advance Patrol card arrived in the mail.
8-8-15- Green Card arrived in the mail.

My biggest advice is to check your mail and pay attention to it. The online status updates were not usually on time especially in the beginning with the interview being set and the notice sent. The online status was more accurate when the EAD and Green Cards were approved and through the processing, printing and mailing process.

Feel free to post if you have any questions. Best of luck to everyone!
