Interview for AOS based on marriage
Hi Everyone,

All the experiences heard here have helped me a lot. Today I had my interview with USCIS at San Francisco.

First of all we passed through a security system, they ask you for your passport and interview letter. Very similar to airport process, have to take your shoes off... After that we were directed to the second floor and gave our interview letter to a receptionist and she told us to go to a waiting room and that my name was going to be called by the officer. After some 10-15 minutes of waiting the officer called my name and me and my husband went with her to her office.

First she asked for was our passports and my husbands California ID and she swore us in. After that she went to some questions about terrorism, prostitution and all the answers were no. Then she asked how did we meet and where. She asked my husband my mother's and father's name, who proposed to whom, and if we had lived together before me arriving to US. After that she asked for evidence of our marriage and we gave her credit cards, health insurance and photos. We didn't have lease together because I arrived after my husband had signed the apartment lease contract.

She said that she recommended for the photos the following: no selfies, photos with grandparents and family, photos from trips with something in the background that showed where that was, etc... Something that we forgot was to bring the last 3 paychecks from my husband's work. So we had to cross the street and print them and fax them to her, that's why she couldn't approve it on the spot, anyways she said that as soon as she received those paycheck our case was going to be accepted.

After that she started explaining me that the greencard that I am going to receive is only going to be valid for 2 years and that 3 months before the 2 years are completed I had to file a form to remove the condition. After 1 more year if I am still married I can apply for my citizenship. She was so sweet and even asked us if we wanted to talk in Spanish since her mother is Mexican.

It was all very fast, our interview was at 9:25am, we arrived 15 mins before and at 10:00 am we were out. The last thing she said was that if I didn't have any babies by the time I wanted to remove the conditional status I would have to file more photos and more proofs of our relationship as joint leases, car insurance, more family pictures, joint taxes, etc.

So now I am waiting for a response and hope that she received the fax with the paychecks, I wish I hadn't forgotten that.

If anybody here has had any similar case where they had to send something back to be approved I would love to hear from your experience and when will I start to receive the approved confirmation.

Hope this can be of help for everybody who is having their interview soon. Have a great day all of you!!
