We applied for a visitor visa at New Delhi consulate. We are a family of four. Me,my mom, my sister and my dad.
We had our interview scheduled today for 8.30 AM. We reached at 8.15 and were asked to wait in queue for security checks. After security checks and finger print verifications , they ask you to again stand in a queue for the interview.

VO: Good morning! can i have your passports please?
My dad: Good morning(handing over the passports)

VO: Why do you want to go to US ?
Dad: for tourism purpose

VO: Do you have any relatives in the US?
Dad: No(Big mistake, as in the form ds160 we had filled we have distant cousin,my dad later told me he thought she was asking about immediate relatives, )

VO: What to do you do sir?
Dad: Manufacturers and exporters of autoparts havinf factory in delhi

VO; and you mam?(looking at my mom)
mom: I am a housewife as well as business women, the business being handled by my husband.

VO; asking me and my sis the same.?
us: We are students.

VO; Where have you earlier been to?
Dad: australia, france, switzerland ..(list goes on n on, he has traveled alot for business as well as leisure purpose)

VO: with family where have you been?
Dad:Australia,singapore,malaysia,thailand,mauritius. (he forgot hong kong)

VO: Have you ever been to US before?
Dad: Yes, I travelled alone to new york, ohio & niagra in 1997 for 7 days.

VO: What were you doing in ohio ?
Dad: My friend lives there, so i went to see the biggest airforce museum with him.

VO: Do you have any cousins in US?
Dad: Yes, distant cousin.(At this point i thought he said no earlier ,so consular was looking at my dad with some doubts)

VO: Saying to herself "this makes more sense")

VO: Where does ur cousin live in US?
Dad: In Massachusetts,Hudson city

VO: What does she do?
Dad: she is a housewife

VO: What does her husband do?
Dad: He works for some company.

VO: which company?
Dad: don't know the name, but works in IT company.

Trust me at this point i was disheartened because by the looks of officer it didnt look like she was convinced.

Then she started looking at our previously stamped visa's.

VO: Why do you have two UK visa's?
Dad: We went to celebrate our 25th anniversary in UK.

VO; Twice?
Dad: No. Only me and my wife have two visa's. Our children have only one as we are planning to spend 5-6 days in london and scotland on our way back to India from US.

VO: How much is your income?
Dad: 1 lakh rupees.

VO looking at more of his visa stamps from different countries and typing something at her computer for 2 mins and then she said the golden words. YOUR VISA HAS BEEN APPROVED. What a sigh of relief it was.
In total the interview lasted for about 10 mins and they didn't check or ask for even one single document.
My word of advice would be to answer everything honestly and confidently.
