Got my green card in mail, finally!!
Hi Guys,
Today marks the end of a season finale of the not so exciting adventures of mr krabbs lol. After waiting 10 months finally I got the green card in hand. This is my take on the whole process so far:
Timeline:
24 November,2014 we applied for green card thru marriage which was our priority date
December 22 was the biometrics
didnt apply for an EAD assuming we will get the date soon.
Case changed to "Ready to be scheduled for an interview" on december 29, since then we waited and waited until August 27,2015 when my case finally changed to scheduled for an interview" october 1"
Finally had the interview on October 1 and got my green card in hand October 9.
So, if you have to wait more than 10 months don't be surprised, it's actually common now due to delay in processing.
My field office was long island NY. If you are from NY, don't lose hope, just keep waiting and be confident at the interview.
The interview process was smooth with literally 3 questions : when is your spouses birthday, how did you guys meet, details on proposal.
It lasted for 10 mins, the officer was a middle aged lady who was very nice and understanding.
If you guys need any info, please follow up on all my responses here ,be it documents you need, or any other info, I have been very active on this thread over the past few months and possibly have asked and answered my fair share which might help you guys out I hope.
Wish you guys all the best with your interviews, don't lose hope and be confident always.
Special thanks to the e-immigration buddies I made over here on this site, to name a few of them : Lemon10,Tatsi, Wen,aleksandra, Hanouda,Simon, adaemi and the list goes on, without you guys I wouldn't have known most of the stuff even after getting a lawyer lol .
Will catch up with you guys soon while removing conditions on my greencard!
Keep smiling always! Peace!
