Family based AOS in Houston
Firstly, a big thank you to all the members who post their experience here. It has been really helpful. I would like to share my journey so far for all the people who have applied from Houston, TX.
Sept 8th, 2015: Applications (130, 131, 485 and 765) received
Sept 12th, 2015: Checks cashed
September 20th: Received receipts
Sept 24th: Received biometrics notice for October 10th, 2015
Sept 30th: Walked in biometrics
Nov 5th: EAD and AP appoved
Nov 9th: EAD/AP combo card mailed.
So, now I am waiting for the EAD card to arrive. I am here on my H1B visa, working in the oil and gas sector. Which, for all of you are in Houston, you know how the market is. So, I am glad that I decided to file for marriage based AOS. I do have an approved I-140, but, my priority date for employment based EB-2 is November 2011. So, I would have had to wait for a long while before getting my greencard through that.
Anyhow, I do realize that Houston has a long wait for the interview, so, I do not expect to be called in before February next year. If any other members would like to share information regarding their upcoming interviews, I would much appreciate that. I will put in an update as soon as I receive any further information.
