Adjustment of Status - I-485

Hi my friends :)

I am happy to tell you guys that today I have received my shiny plastic card in the mail :-) (Well, my hubby got to see it first, darn it ;p)

Let me tell you,the time since the interview has been the most stressful...

Going back to our interview, everything went well - IO seemed to be in a rush to go home, asked two questions, joked and laughed like crazy and told us he needs to request a missing file from one of the service centers. Told us my approval should be done in 2 weeks and if it doesn't come within a month, told us to come back with an infopass & a letter he gave us after 30 days... Of course nothing happened within the month, so me and my hubby went for an infopass and were told by an officer that by mid January, beginning of February I should be all set but he didn't guarantee anything.

After 5 days from the infopass, I decided to call the higher level of CS and told them the story of how our IO told us it will take few days and it is taking weeks.... I think that phone call did magic because my card went into production a day after the case inquiry was assigned to an officer.

I was beyond thrilled and excited and looked at a couple of flights to my home country.... but my happiness was quickly taken away from me after I found out that USPS lost my mail. It was just stuck at one of the USPS facilities.... Here it goes again, my luck. Called USPS numerous of times (yes, it was hard during the holiday season and consumer affairs got involved too) and after 2.5 weeks from approval I got my card. THANK YOU GOD!!!!!
