Phoenix, AZ. EAD and Change of Status
So... this is the second time typing this as the webpage timed out and refreshed.
I will try to keep this brief but detailed.

I am a British Citizen who married a US citizen. We are both Active duty veterans and my husband is now a reservist for the USAF.

I entered the country legally on a visa waiver program (ESTA) and had our beautiful wedding prematurely due to my husbands last remaining grandparent falling threateningly unwell and he wanted his grandfather to live to see our wedding day.

That aside, below is a timeline of our experience so far; although not complete, I hope this is helpful.

01/14/16 - We sent our I-130, I-131, I-485, I-765 and the documents including medical, tax filing and e-notification document.

01/15/16 - Our documents were received by the Phoenix USCIS office.

01/22/16 - My husband received a text message with a receipt numbers for the four main forms. We logged these receipt numbers into the USCIS form tracker site. This explained that we should receive a Notification of Action (I-797) between now and the 02/14/16.

01/25/16 - Our status on all four forms were updated online using the USCIS tracker site. When opening each form to see the update, the I-485 was the form that had changed in status. This had changed from "A letter will be sent in the mail explaining next steps" to "On January 22, 2016, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number YYYY YYYY YYYY X. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case."

01/25/16 - Same day, I made a call to USCIS as we had confirmation from the USAF that my husband is being deployed. We wanted to find out if there is a way to expedite the application on these grounds. The USCIS representative filed a request to expedite on military deployment grounds. I was told I would hear from USCIS regarding this via phone call or email within 5 days.

01/28/16 - I received 3 letters from USCIS (one for each form application) and my husband received 1 letter for the petition form that he filed.
On the I-797C in response to the I-765, there was a minor error on my address. Due to them specifying that all details must be correct, I called the number stated on the I-797C to ensure that I inform them of error. I was told that i would receive a call back within an hour.

01/28/16- 1 hour on **IMMIGRATION OFFICER CALL**
The very helpful officer informed me of 2 things:
1) That the request to expedite needs to be submitted *AFTER* the biometrics appointment and that I will need to reapply to expedite the application.
2) That a letter was sent out on 01/26/16 with a biometrics appointment date and that it should be with me tomorrow (01/29/16).

Although I tried to keep our journey so far, brief, I have put in all of the information that I so desperately searched for incase anyone else is in a similar position.

I hope this is helpful and thank you for reading.

Respectfully,
Kimberley
