AOS DENIED.......RE-FILED and Now Have Both my GC and EAD
I filed my case in March 2015 and after some RFEs, which we did not respond to appropriately, the case was DENIED in October 2014 (After a long period of silence by USCIS), due to inadequate funds (Sponsor).
-11.04.2015 - I refiled my application (i-485 and i-765)
(When refiled my case, I was allocated the PRIORITY DATE that I had when I first filed my application, 25.03.2015)
- 12.03.15 - Biometrics
-12.29.15 - Received Interview Letter
-01.22.2016 - Interview (GC Approved on the Spot)
-01.25.16 - Notice i-485 Approved
-01.26.16 - Notice i-765 New Card is being produced
01.27.16 - i 797c welcome notice - ......Welcome to Permanent residence status in the United States... (On a Crisp Paper (as opposed to those plain white ones..:) :)
-01.28.16 - Notice GC (Card was Mailed to Me)
-01.29.16 - Notice i-765 (Card was Mailed to Me)
-01.30.16 - Notice GC (Card was Delivered to me by the Post Office) - with Tracking Number
-01.30.16 - Notice i-765 (Card was Delivered to me by the Post Office) - with Tracking Number

Just a few words of advice: Avoid RFEs, Get your story right at the interview (THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART THAT THE INTERVIEWER WILL BE LOOKING AT, more than the documents. The documents are just an addition. Knowing issues about your home(bedroom too :) ), families, etc , do not say much as would be unnecessary and jeopardize your case, have documents that show your lives are intertwined, for pictures, it would help to have those that show moments between the two of you and friends and family.

One other thing that our interviewer informed us is, since my GC is CONDITIONAL(Married for less than a Year), it may serve us good to start building our evidence for the removal of the conditions immediately- Put together documents, pictures etc- and all we will need to do, is mail them when the time is due and if they see everything is in order, they may just remove the conditions and dispense with the interview.

Finally, this whole process is harrowing and very tense (my opinion). But what I would like to say is, timelines and Priority dates of each of us may or may not be the same, I believe each and every case is adjudged differently. To keep oneself occupied, there is so much that one can be doing and be busy and in the process, get to know how to drive, the routes, learn English etc- time moves so fast.

I wish you well my friends
