L2 EAD Renewal - 118 days!!
L2 EAD renewal, Nebraska

16th Oct 2015 - Attorney Mailed application to USCIS (exactly 120days before expiry of current card)

16th October 2015 - USCIS Received:

29th October 2015 - USCIS Receipt received by mail: (Receipt Date 20th October 2015)
No Biometrics (not needed)
No change in status for 75 days.

4th Jan 2016 – 79th day Attorney raised online SR (holidays..grr!)
12the Jan 2016 - Generic response by mail. Inline to be received by officer

15th Jan 2016- 91st day - Attorney sent email inquiry. No response for 7 days

26th Jan - I raised phone enquiry
29th Jan- Generic response for phone inquiry email: Pending adjudication, additional
reviews are being performed

29th Jan - Attorney raised expedite request (employer letter, employer notice, personal letter). Attorney clearly told expedite request may not work. But we were running out of options.

3rd Feb - Response: Expedite Request received, even if accepted there may be RFE or Security check …Scary. Took infopass appointment, but available slot was very close to expiry date

3rd Feb – I personally contacted Congress reps office with all details.

5th Feb - Attorney and Congress office got email that card was approved and being produced! But online case status was still Case Received.

8th Feb - attorney emailed USCIS as to why status was still Case Received. Got response that online status is lagging but confirmed that card is in production.

9th Feb status changed to Card mailed

11th Feb card delivered…2 days to expiry. phew! (it’s scary when they say it might take 30days to receive card after mailing…I mean as if we haven’t gone through enough)

118 days from application to get card in hand.

The anxiousness, the mental strain is too much. You end up checking the status every half hour. It’s also troubling that your case only gets attention after 90days and there are chances of RFE and also I read on this forum about validity of photographs. That’s insane. It’s amazing how contacting the Congress reps office resolves the issue. I suggest that on 91st day try InfoPass (may not be helpful, but shows you tried everything) appointment and in parallel contact Congress reps office.
