L2 - EAD Experience
Hi everyone,

This forum helped me a lot so I would like to share my experience.

Context is L2 first time EAD. I arrived in the US at the end of October 2015 and applied for EAD on November 4 2015. I signed a contrat on mid November and tell to my employer I will be able to start mid February 2016.

November 4th 2015 - Sent all document to USCIS - Vermont Services
November 6th - All documents were received by USCIS
November 9th - I received the I797 form saying case was received

January 22 2016 - Day 75 - I sent an inquiry to have an update about my case
January 29 - I received an answer saying that I have to wait an additional 60 days. I started being worried for the timetable I gave to my future employer.
February 6th - Day 92 - I sent an inquiry for out of time processing
February 7th - I received the same answer as the previous inquiry - wait for an additional 60 days
February 9th - I booked an appointment at USCIS local office
February 12th - appointment - Useless, waste of time, they are unable to help you, and they do not deliver interim EAD anymore. I decided to contact congressman and CISombudsman explaining the situation and my future employer getting hungry
February 15th - I received a RFE additional evidence
February 19th - The status moved to RFE received
February 26th - I submited another inquiry for out of processing delay to USCIS and called both congressman and CISombudsman office to have an update - answers were that the are studying my case and will come back to me
February 29th - The status moved to We approved your form I765 and ordered your new card - same day I received an email from CISombudsman saying that USCIS has been contacted and will move
March 4th - Day 120 - EAD and approval notice on hand

I have tried to be as precise as possible, I did not mention calls to USCIS (I called them many times) because it is useless, they can not help you they know nothing they just repeat things you already know.
I do not have a lawyer I did it alone.
My employer is cool and patient, he has waited but these delays are very dangerous.
I would advise to contact congressman and CISombudsman asap after the 90 days.

All the best everyone
