I just wanted to share my experience in case anyone needed to hear it.
My journey began when I got married to my husband in June 2014. everything went okay up until our interview which was the 1st of December 2014. at that time, my husband and I barely had anything together, our only evidence was a bank account, a rent receipt from a friend(we lived in the basement) and pictures. On the interview date, we were called separately, my husband first. he said everything went okay(he's a very laid back person) then i went in and they threw all these questions at me, I panicked and I messed everything up! on our way home, we tried to match our answers and we realized we were screwed! on the 12th of January 2015, Uscis officials went to the apartment building and asked if they knew us( remember, this was an arrangement made by a friend to let us live in the basement before we were able to get everything together) so course, the lady said no. They went to my mother-in-law's house and of course, my husband still had stuff there so they(USCIS) concluded that my husband lived with his mum and our marriage was a fraud. I panicked and cried but I thank God that we had our people that stood as family for us. As expected we got a notice of intent to deny. My husband withdrew the case because it was just too much stress for us. So around March 2015, our case got denied because they though it was a fraud marriage. We decided to seek help from people, spoke to lawyers, researched. and we found a lawyer that told us to re-apply. At this time i was working because i had my permit so we could at least afford an apartment. So in June 2015, we moved into our own apartment, started building up evidence and reapplied in October of 2015, My permit expired in October and i lost my Job(but God works in mysterious ways) I was able to go back to work in December after my new EAD arrived. Again everything went smooth until the interview, at this point we were prepared!!! I made my husband go through every single detail, I mean every single detail! I gathered evidence, bills, lease, credit card, insurance, everything i could lay my hands on. Come January 2016, we had our interview scheduled again, this time we were more prepared and we hired a lawyer(Our lawyer stopped being helpful when the money stopped coming in but we were able to pull through). The interview went great, we had a different officer that focused entirely on our first interview and why we messed up so much. we were prepared for that so that wasn't an issue. It seemed like the officer was confused as to why we messed up so badly at first. we were hoping for the same day approval but he told us our case was inconclusive. our hearts broke because we thought we were in for another investigation(it is STRESSFUL!) With prayers and hope, our case was approved on the 7th of March! and we anticipate to get the card sometime next week!!!!! it's been a very very stressful journey, I cannot begin to give you guys details but I am thankful this is a hurdle we were able to cross!
