Adjustment of Status - I-485

I came here with F1 and filed for my I485 based marriage but right now,my f1 is expired and my passport is expired too but my interview is by April.my question is,will that be a problem,like must I take my passport to the interview or must renew it before the interview? Was planing on going to the interview with the expeired passport coz its hard for me to renew over here in USA as my consulate office is way too far from me.please if y'all know what's needed for my interview do let me know.please would appreciate ur responds.whats gonna happen if don't renew my passport before the interview ??
