B2 Visa Interview for Disabled Mother
Hi Guys,

Thanks for your post in this forum it really helped me to prepare for Visa interview for my mother. I believe this post might help some one who's also in similar situation. I am in H1 and applied B2 for my Mother. My mother is disabled(Deaf n Dumb by birth) and she's widow. I know its 50:50 chance to get approval in visitor visa(that too she's widow and i'm the only son).

Scheduled interview with tamil language option in Chennai consulate(Since my mother can understand tamil language and by lip reading).

Sent mail to supportUSDocs and got confirmation that my spouse(in india) will accompany her during OFC and Visa Interview(Even though its is mentioned in confirmation letter that disabled person may be allowed with care taker and interpreter, I double confirmed that)

OFC experience was smooth, Mother n spouse Reached half n hour before and initially they dint allow my spouse to enter then upon showing confirmation and explaining her situation they allowed along with Mom.

Visa interview
Reached Chennai Consulate half n hour before. Initially they dint allow spouse in security clearance then upon explaining and showing confirmation they allowed till interview place.

VO officer was a lady. My spouse explained that my mother is deaf n dumb but can understand sign language, lip reading and respond back in sign language.

Then VO said we will take care no issues and asked my Spouse to wait.( VO was calm n Kind)

VO took my mother to another interpreter and below conversation happened between Interpreter, VO and my Mother.

Mom Greeted both of them.

VO Interpreter: Why do you wanted to go USA
Mom: To see my son and tourism

VO Interpreter: How many son you have
Mom: Only one son

VO interpreter: How long you gona stay in USA
Mom: 4 months and then will return

VO was convinced and said enough of interview and Shown Thumps Up sign to my mother(Visa Approved). My Mother was happy and said Thanks you to VO and Interpreter.

Complete Interview happened in Sign Language.

They brought my mom to my spouse and my spouse double confirmed whether she cleared interview. They said Mother cleared interview and you can receive passport in 2-3 days.

They dint ask for single document other than my mother passport(Even though she carried bunch of supporting documents like sponsor documents, statements, invitation letter etc etc)

Actually VO lady was very calm and kind and very well supported understanding the situation(Big thanks for her).

Now everybody is relieved without tension.

Before Interview preparations
1. Be clear with the details you give in DS160 and remember it
2. Do your preparation very well(I started my preparations with set of questions from immihelp and explained mom in daily video call. How to greet VO, Understand their questions and think and give correct answer etc. This really helped her for her preparation)
3. Confidence(Told mom either you get or don't get, don't worry do your best. So she was stress free in understanding and answering their questions)
4. Documentation(Be clear in your documents even they dint ask us any documents have strong documentation for home tie-up and sponsorship etc)
5. At-last it should be your day in getting Visa.

Thanks Immihelp and people those who posted their experience in this forum.
