Toronto-16-Jun-2016-L1B Blanket
Hi,

I would like to share my experience of Toronto Consulate ,as i think it will help someone as i was looking for lot of answers on this forum for my questions too ,so here we go.

Appt Time :745 EDT
Visa Type : L1 Intra Company transfer

I boarded the Go Train from Brampton as I parked my car outside station as i wanted to avoid downtown driving ...walked from union station to consulate its 1.5 km.

Accidentally i carried my phone with me as i forgot to leave it in car ,now i found a shop near consulate which keeps phone ,car remote keys and other stuff for 5$.
Shop Location... you go straight from consulate towards Dundas .. its on right side before u reach main road .this shop is conv store and you see Passport/Photo outside on board.

This shop is really good for leaving your phone and all that.

Backpacks are also not allowed in consulate too.

There were 10-12 people ahead of me in queue ,by 735 i was inside consulate.

Got my documents checked on one window ,they gave me slip to make payment of 500 usd for Fraud prevention .. now thats on another floor and it doesnt open till 8am so i had to wait and while waiting i heard few interviews too ... saw lot of visitor visa's rejected ... especially of people who are on work permit or PR for less than 2 yrs ... just a observation , also their story was not good too.

I saw that Parents(non canadian) of Canadian citizens were getting visitor visa easily approved.

Now after making payment , i went back to same window again to get my passport and documents in file.

After getting documents and passport i went to another window for finger prints, then i was in queue for interview.

During the duration i was there .. rejection rate was 50-60% (but keep in its based on sample size of 15).

Now my Interview was like this
VO: First time to US
me :Yes
VO:What you do in your current job?
me : explain ..
VO : Why do you have to go to US?
me ..
VO : How many other persons in the company have same knowledge level on the application as you have.
me : ...
VO: Visa approved , it will take 1 week for you to get passport.

Now few suggestions.

1) Carry as many documents as you can ... you never know .. as there was one guy who was applying for some visa ... VO asked show me your resume .. he was like .. i dont have it now ...
2) Carry education certificates original if possible ..they may ask .. though they didnt asked me.

I will post a comment on this post once i get my passport back.

I hope this post will help someone.
