Washington DC Filer - Feb 2016
Hi everyone, I have been following the forum for some time now and I just decided to write myself to get your thoughts on some of my questions. I filed my case in Feb 2016 and got pd 2/12/2016. I had my biometrics on 3/7 and my online status has been "your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" since 3/22. I received my EAD and my AP on 5/3 and I have not heard anything since then. I check the status every day with the hopes that my interview will be scheduled soon. My questions for you all.

1) Are there any filers in Washington, DC office and what has been your experience and timeline?
2) How long should I wait before I contact USCIS with an infopass or ask them to review my case as it is past the regular timeline (I am not 100% sure how this is calculated so I am sure I am still within their timeline).
3) Their website says that they are working on cases for October 2015 as of April 2016. What does that mean? Does that mean that there is ~ 5 months before I even get an interview?
4) I am planning to move to Texas in mi August and I was wondering whether moving will result in my case being transferred to the TX office and cause any delays?
5) I wanted to change my name on the GC application and I did not as I read many contracting posts that this may cause issues. I have to renew my foreign passport now to travel and I was wondering if anyone has requested the interviewer to make the change of their name on the application? Can I change my name once the CG is approved? If so, what is the process and is there any additional cost?
6) If I am moving soon, can I change my address online earlier to prevent any mail arriving after my moveout date? Can I use a friend's address as we do not have a place in texas yet (or does it have to be my address where I truly live or is it just mailing address)? I just don't want delays due to lost mail. (idk how to register for online notifications).
7) With my EAD case, can I get a new job considering that I am currently on my H1b status with my current employer?

Thank you all for your thoughts. Your posts thus far have been very helpful to me. Good luck to everyone.
