Dear all:
Thank you so much for your wonderful help and moral support. It would be impossible to wait for 7 months without it.
I filed i 485 (family based, married a permanent resident) through adjustment of status on Dec 2, 2015. On Jan 8th, I gave my fingerprints.
Since then: I have not heard from USCIS at all.
According to USCIS website, on June 15th they finished processing cases dated Dec 25th, 2015. Our case is dated Dec 2, 2015.
Since I am a graduate student on a valid F1 visa, I have not applied for a travelling document or a work authorization.
I scheduled trip for a conference for August. I was sure the green card would have been issued by then giving our priority day. Now we are so frustrated. My wife is going to Germany in two weeks for a conference. I can not go for an interview without her (they did not even schedule an interview for us!!!).
I was advised to contact an ombudsman. I filled the form here.
https://cisomb.dhs.gov/oca/form7001.aspx
I received a confirmation email saying that they will reply with 45 DAYS! This is even crazier than USCIS 30 DAYS of reply. Is it a right way to contact an ombudsman?
I was advised to contact a congressman. How should I contact him? We are located in Durham, NC. Should I go directly to a congressman's website from my district and write a complain?
We are so frustrated at this point. I am going on a job market this year. Soon I will be travel ling for interviews outside the US. It will be terrible if I am not aloud to leave the country due to the delay in my case.
Thank you so much for your time and support!
