Visa refusal at Mumbai consulate
Visa refusal at Mumbai consulate
1st application/interview: Dec 7 2004
Sponsor: son-in-law, GC holder
6 months visa for in-laws

QTNS asked:
1) Who is there in US - Daughter and son-in-law
2) How many children you have - one
3) How can you go for 6 months? - Because we are retired

They just looked at the documents sent by the sponsor. They looked at the letter sent by the sponsor for 6 months visit. MIL mentioned that she has affidavits to prove that they will be returning to India but the official said sorry, they can't grant the visa. Overall it was a very disappointing experience.

The factors which may have been negative:
1) 6 months stay
2) Only daughter in USA
3) Didn't show affidavits initially when asked for documents.
4) Sponsor's status - Greencard
