Visitor Visa Approved (HYD consulate)
Thanks immihelp for the information. The experience I am posting here is based on the accounts my parents provided.

My parents got the visitor visa today! They had a joint interview at 10:45 am and they came out by 11:15 am.

The interview was straight forward similar to most of the interviews listed here. They were asked essentially the same 6-7 questions.

My parents went through the security check and went to the first counter where their documents such as passport, visa receipt and interview letter were confirmed and they were finger printed.

They were handed a token number and they waited in the line as they had opted for a Hindi interview.

An American guy took their interview. He was in general a jovial person and was smiling during the entire interview process.

My father did most of the talking.

These were the questions that were asked:

VO: Why are going?
ans: to visit my son

VO: Where are you going?
ans: city, state

VO: what does your son do?
ans: Position, Company (my father presented the HR letter I received stating how long I have been employed, my salary and my position)
Seeing this letter, the VO smiled and said excellent, this is wonderful.

VO: Again asks, why are you going?
ans: to visit my son and to enjoy the holiday season (Christmas and new year) in US. Again here the VO puts a big smile on his face.

VO: Who else do you have here in India?
ans: other kids and extended family

VO: What do you other kids do?
ans: told their business and professions. Its funny that when my dad said my elder brother own a fast food restaurant, he was like is it close from here and can we get some food from there :-))

VO: Do you have any property?
ans: Yes, here are the property documents (both home and land)

at this time he asks how many acres of land do you have?
ans: Not in acres, this land is within the city so its only ----------- yards..

at this point he writes something on the computer. He goes inside and asks my parents to wait there.

He comes back smiling and says, Alright go and make preparations for the big holiday season. Your VISA is granted...you will receive the visa within 7 days..

Its such a big relief..

Suggestions to other aspirants:
Follow most of the information outlined here in immihelp.
Make sure to prepare for the interview process really well. I was training my parents regularly for the last 2 weeks. Basically, its the same 5-8 questions but I think its the confidence with which you answer that plays the most important role.
