Hi everyone,
I would like to share my experience with US visitor visa. This was the 3rd time we applied and we got it. I would firstly thank Immihelp for this wonderful website which helps people just to understand the visa procedure and prepare for it.
My dad, mom and myself- We three were applying for the visa
Our OFC was on 5th June at 11:30 am at Mumbai office. It went well and is very quick. You are out in 15minutes.
Interview date was 19th June at 9:00am at Mumbai office. We were quite nervous. Also it was raining very very heavily that day. But we saw to it that all our paperwork is there in place and we don't miss out any important documents. We had carried all original and photocopy of all documents.
We arrived at the consulate at 8:40am but there was a very long queue owing to the rains. We were taken inside at 10:15am.
First you get inside and there is waiting area. You proceed to the first queue which is for finger print.
You stand in the next queue which was for the interview. The consulate working lady there will tell us which window to proceed to.
We were happy that the young boy before us was also approved the visa. That made us happy and confident.
This is how the interview was:
My Dad to VO: Good morning
VO: Was busy in the computer
VO: Can I have your passports please?
VO: Why do you want to go to the US?
Dad: For tourism
VO: Do you know anybody there?
Dad: Yes, my wife's brother stays there
VO to my mother: What does your brother do?
Mom: He works at _________
VO to Dad: What do you do?
Dad: I work at __________
VO to Dad: Which all places have you visited:?
My dad has been to many places in the world so he mentioned all of them
VO to all of us: Have you all been to all these places?
Dad: No. We all three have been to Dubai, ___, _____ etc
VO to Dad: How many children do you have?
Dad: 2 children . One is married and he is the other one
VO to me: What do you do?
Me: I work as ____
Was typing something on the computer continuously ad then the golden words 'Your all 3 visa's are approved. Congratulations! Enjoy your stay in the US'
