What does Parolee mean?
Hello everyone, I'm on H1-B now and in the process of AOS/EAD/Advance Parole like you guys.

I was told by my lawyer that I shouldn't change my status from H1B to EAD until I receive my GC (I believe many people heard the same thing).
But he also told me if I change, I should need to be a parolee because just because I have Advance Parole doesn't mean I'm a parolee until I leave the US and reentry with my advance parole. And now I can't go out of country until December (I think that's the travel ban), I can't be a parolee.

Without being a parolee, I have no status that guarantee myself as a non-immigrant resident (since I give up my H1-B if I use EAD). This way my status is sort of not exactly legal, that's what my lawyer said.

I guess there are some incorrect information (like travel ban; I'm not sure if I'm really not allowed to come back with H1B or Advance parole), but my point is have you ever heard this kind of stories before?
