Wonderful Interview Experience today
We've been waiting since August 28, 2019 for our interview to be scheduled here in NYC.
Sept 2 - Got email letting me know date has been scheduled.
Sept 10 - Received letter with interview date of 9/22...not a whole lot of time to prepare but our lawyer and his staff were on top of things and made sure we had all our paperwork ready for the big day. My wife and I spent the next two weeks preparing and making sure we went over our documentation and got familiarized with it.
Sept 22 - The big day! showed up at Federal Plaza in Manhattan and met our lawyer in the waiting room They took my wife's picture and took fingerprints again. Waited about 45 minutes when we got called in. The officer, who by the way was a very nice person, sat us down in front of his desk and our lawyer sat down behind us. After swearing in, he asked for some paper work which our lawyer provided. As he was checking all the papers and making notes he would ask a couple of marriage based questions.. and then went on the ask my wife some of the security questions from the i485. He really went out of his way to make sure we were not nervous. Spoke very calmly and was very friendly. After making sure everything was in order, he stamped some papers and told us we'll be notified about a decision soon. We thanked him and left the building. About half hour later, I get an email alert saying our card was being produced. My wife and I cried like babies. It's been a long journey but worth it.
