Thought I'd share my experience so far
    19/10/2012- Filed I-130 & I-485 together
25/10/2012- Received receipts & Biometrics Appointment date for 21st of November
9/11/2012- Filed I-765 ( wasn't aware that a separate form had to be filed for work authorization which is why it wasnt sent along with 485 & 130 )
14/11/2012- USCIS issued receipt for i-765
    21/11/2012- Completed Biometrics
27/12/2012- Received letter with interview date for January 29. 2013.

Still awaiting EAD ..All cases are still in " initial review " state according to USCIS website.

My interview was today, 29th too. I'd submitted by application 16 Nov 2012, and after a pretty simple interview was granted a green card. The interviewer said it was one of the best applications she'd ever seen, even better than most lawyers who charge extortionate money.

I'd received my EAD about two weeks ago, and got my social security card a day before my interview, so was able to give them that.

I think the key to success is producing a very comprehensive application package. The process made me very obsessive, and I basically put everything in I could think of, and produced a table of contents to help the reviewer. Although the process was still stressful, looking back, having that good application makes all the difference imo.

My background is that I am English, was living in France and I met my now wife online in fall 2009. I flew over three times in 2010, staying for 5, 3 and 8 weeks throughout the year, and then returned at the end of 2010 on a student visa, and stayed with her. All the way through, I was open and honest with each staff member of immigration control, so they knew exactly why I was here and what I was doing.

Last August we got married, and November I was finally able to submit my application. Was I lucky, perhaps a little, but as I say, taking a professional approach to the entire process helped no end.

I hope chelle, who started this thread, also has good news too, and I wish everyone else good luck.
