Please advice:Biometrics completed,do we still need to file for extension of B2 visa

Hello,
My father's finger printing for green card processing was completed on August 23rd this month .
His B2 Visa will expire on Sept 3rd.
Do we have to file for extension of B2 visa ? Please advice .

It's not the visa itself but the I-94 expiry date that matters. Please note that when applying for I-94 extension you need to provide reasons for extension that are consistent with your father's B2 status. Applying for extension after you filed for adjustment of status contradicts the applicant's immigration intentions (i.e. one cannot file for immigration and ask to extend non-immigrant status at the same time). Anyway, I don't think there is reason to worry, as long as you applied for AoS before the expiry I-94 date and it was accepted for processing (which it was, seeing as your father already had to give his fingerprints).

That said, I am not really in the position to give advice on this subject since my AoS application has not been approved yet (and my I-94 expired shortly after I submitted my application).
