I applied for AOS while on an F1 student visa (Canadian citizen). The application was sent on August. I received notice of advance parole (I-131 approval) this week. On my application, I listed my reasons for applying for AP as: "I would like to attend my best friend's wedding and see my family over winter holiday in Canada." However, when I received the AP (multiple entries), it states that it is typically used for humanitarian reasons / or for the benefit of society. I'm now reluctant to leave the country to attend a weekend wedding as I am unsure whether this is a justified reason to use AP, and if it will draw attention to my application and risk its processing. I've been told and have read that unless travel is an emergency, it is better to "fly under the radar" and not leave the country. I am also scheduled to graduate from grad school next year and will be interviewing for jobs this fall, and being denied entry would forsake many of my future plans. My question is this: given my history, what is the likelihood I would be denied entering the US after attending a weekend wedding? And would it jeopardize my application?
