Hi,
I have applied for an Adjustment of Status based on marriage. I entered on a K-1 visa, and we got married and sent my paperwork within 2 months of entry to USCIS. Just heard back from the USCIS saying that they have now scheduled an interview for me and my spouse on May 11th.
I also applied for AP and EAD - both of which were approved today.
I want to travel to India since my mom isn't well, and would ideally like to leave after my AOS interview (May 11th) for about 5 weeks. Can I? Should I book my tickets? I believe they no longer stamp your passport, allowing instant travel? Would my AP still be valid on my return? Or is this another one of those grey areas where I won't be able to re-enter the country?
Please help! This process has been so convoluted and lengthy, and I would hate to jeopardize it.
Thanks!
