  • I lost my ead card last week gc interview scheduled! what to do?

    Hi everyone.
I am applying for adjustment of status through marriage. I am in New Jersey.
I applied in January, did fingerprint in February and received my work permit card in March.
On May 2nd 2015, my green card interview was scheduled. Everything was going smoothly until I lost my ead card. That was last week. I have tried filing a report but they won't do it unless I have a document from uscis, but when I call the 1800 number for uscis no one seems to know how to help me. I honestly don't need the card because I'm already working, I'm just concerned that they will ask me for it at the interview and I won't have it.
Has anyone experienced something like this? How important is it to bring your ead card to the interview? If anyone can help I would appreciate it.
    Thanks

No, you're ok. They never usually ask for the EAD. Deporting it is the right thing to do.
If, however, the IO ask for it, just tell the truth and all you have done about reporting it.
All you would need besides any documents, would be your Passport, State ID or Driver's license and your I-94. Good luck at your interview.
