Hello everyone,
I am a U.S. citizen about to get married to a Spanish citizen. We both live in Spain at the moment, but we would like to move to the U.S. within the next few months. We've been reading and researching and I think we understand the general process and requirements, but we wanted to do a final check before making any decisions.
If he enters the U.S. under the Visa Waiver Program (we will already be married by this point), will we be able to apply for Adjustment of Status from the U.S.? We considered consular processing, but our priority is getting there as soon as possible and both of us being able to work. (If I understand correctly, while consular processing is quicker in terms of getting the actual green card, adjustment of status would allow him to work within a few months.) That being said, we don't want to have any problems, legal, bureaucratic, or otherwise.
Any advice or input about similar experiences would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
