I will be sending off all my documents to the Chicago office by Friday of this week, anybody know the time frame this will take? I am on b1/b2 visitor visa and my stay end in early November. My wife is a USC and we have 3yr old son together. Can I also get a run down of all the documents even though I read most of the post here and work with what I saw and I think I have them all except my police record from my country. Also we married here last year June but I went back home n came back here in late April and decide to do the adjustment of Status, I want to know if that's an issue.

Hi,i came up on a b1 visa too and overstayed. You should send in with your package theI-130 Petition for alien relative or approval notice for i-130,I-693 Report of medical examination,I-864 Affidavit of support, G-235A Biographic information,I-765 Application for employment,I-131 Application for travel document if you wish to travel during the process and i highly recommend it.You should also submit copies of supporting documents like marriage certificate,I-94,Tax transcript and w-2's for your spouse etc.when they accept your application you will be notified and they will also send you an appointment to do your fingerprint. It is a waiting game so be patient and good luck!Originally posted by Yardman View PostI will be sending off all my documents to the Chicago office by Friday of this week, anybody know the time frame this will take? Thanks for the info but why do you highly recommend the I 131? I have all the other documents ready except for the I 131. I also have a next issue where my camera was stolen with most of my wedding pics even though it was a very small wedding at the court, I only have other pics will that be an issue.Originally posted by keabarb View PostHi,i came up on a b1 visa too and overstayed. It is a waiting game so be patient and good luck!

Because you never know what emergency can pop up and you have to go back to your home country, you would need the I-131 to get back into the US.You don't have to apply but its good to have it just in case.Originally posted by Yardman View PostThanks for the info but why do you highly recommend the I 131? Cool. Sound good but originally I thought I had to pay extra that's why I left it out but after going back to the website and reading through some stuff here I realize it is covered in the $1070... Thanks for the info... Next thing while going through the form its ask for intended date of travel? The thing is I don't really have such that at the moment. What you is best to put there?Originally posted by keabarb View PostBecause you never know what emergency can pop up and you have to go back to your home country, you would need the I-131 to get back into the US.You don't have to apply but its good to have it just in case.
