Work Permitt

I have 1 problems going on.
1- We know a girl here that we would like to hire her as a nanny. She speaks 2 different languages besides english to our kids. So we think this is a good proof to get her a work permit. However she came as visitor`s visa, has i-94 expired, with a visa for 5 years. What can we do? Can we hire her or not? Procedures? If yes, how long would take for us to know if was accepted?

You can't really hire her. No one on visitors visa is allowed to work.

I`ve just talked to someone who told me is possible. However I have to talk to my lawyer and pays some fees.
Any other advice is welcome!
