hello everyone, anybody knows if sponsored immigrant can count his assets in US. I mean my spouse has house(no mortgage). was wondering if uscis will want to know where money came from for this house. I know we can't use his income because he worked with no permit, I couldn't find anything about assets.

Little confusing, are you saying the sponsor was working illegally or the applicant? The applicant does not need to show income/assets the sponsor does. Affidavit of support comes from the sponsor (or you can have someone else be a co-sponsor etc). Take a look at I-864, it asks for sponsors income, if the income is 125% above poverty guidelines (you need to account for dependents), then you can leave the assets section blank. If it is low or zero, you can use Part 7 to show assets.

I am usc and sponsor for my husband(intending immigrant). I have low income. I'd like to use my husband's(intending immigrant) assets. Question is: will uscis be asking, how possible that intending immigrant could buy a house if he couldn't work legally before??Originally posted by scorpioz View PostLittle confusing, are you saying the sponsor was working illegally or the applicant?
