  • April filers 2016 - my timeline so far

Thank you, everyone, for sharing your experience via this medium.
In moments of sadness, anxiousness, and impatience, your words of experience somehow provide great comfort to me.

This is our timeline for the application:

4/6 Application sent (I prepared everything myself)

4/10 Application delivered in Chicago, IL (Priority Mail 2-Day Certified Mail, Return Receipt... I regret not having paid more money so they could have it in their hands the next day! Those 4 days of waiting for my application to arrive to destination felt like an eternity)

    4/18 I received 3 text messages from USCIS ("Your case was received.") I-765 & I-130 & I-485

    4/18 USCIS cashed our checks

4/20 "Check Status" online worked for the first time

4/21 I received 3 receipts in the mail

4/29 I received the biometrics appointment letter in the mail

5/10 I followed the instructions in the letter and showed up in East Hartford at the time and day specified in the letter

6/2 I noticed on the USCIS "Check Status" website, the words for my I-485 had changed to "Case is Ready to be scheduled for an interview"
There are still no changes for the I-130 or the I-797

7/9/2016 I received a Notice of Action via mail for I-797, Employment authorization approved, yet there are no changes on the USCIS-check-your-status website for my I-797

You applied on April 25th and got your Green Card on July 6th? That was fast. How was the interview? Do you mind sharing your experience? Also, did you apply from CT?

That is great luck. We have our case received since Sep. 8th 2015, and since October 15th of 2015 we are ready to schedule your interview status, and nothing until today. We called, we went to the office, and they told us "Wait". I don't know how much longer we have to wait for an interview it is being very unpleasant experience, very!

                  Timeline I 485 San Bernandino

                  Hi everyone,
I would like to ask if there is someone who applied at the same time as me with my husband or who has similar experience with lime line as we have.

                  3/30 Application sent(I 130, I 485, I 765)
4/18 Documents recieved by USCIS, recieved confirmation letter for all three applications
5/13 Recieved Biometrics notice by mail
                  5/23 Biometrics done
5/25 Recieved by mal Request for initial evidence (Joint sponsor, last year taxes, W2, paystubs)
                  6/9 Answer for RFE sent
6/21 USCIS recieved RFE answer, online statuse changed-Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received
7/22 Approval notice of I 765 recieved by mail
7/25 Online status changed to New card is being produced-EAD card
                  7/28 EAD card was mailed
8/1 EAD card recieved by mail

Status of I 485 havent chnaged since June 21st but last update was made on July 28th but status still saying Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received, does anybody has any idea what it can mean? How long will it take to recive the answer for the RFE or is it the answer that case will be ready to be scheduled for the interview? How long do you think it will take to get interview notice? It has been four months since we filled the application and I feel I can take the waiting anymore, patience really become my best friend and even than I feel I have last drops of patience left. Any similar experience or information will really help and would greatly appreciate them!! Thank so much.
