    Hello everyone!
I am an international student here in States and me and my boyfriend who is a US citizen recently got married. We applied for AOS(i485) and i130 and i131 last month. I got mail saying that my application was received by USCIS almost a week back. Can I take a break from my school for a while now that I have married a USC or do I have to get an USCIS approval before I take a break from my school? I actually am planning to go to my home country during summer because one of my family member is very sick (for that I have applied for i131 expedited). The only thing I am worried is about whether I can take break from the school for a year or so and continue it later when I want?? I need this break because I am planning to prepare for some other licensure examination during this period. What status am I right now after applying for AOS??? Please guys I would really appreciate any information on this matter.
    Thanks
    S

Your status is "pending adjustment of status to that of a permanent resident"

If your application for adjustment of status is denied, you will return to your F-1 student status. If you do not maintain your F-1 status, you will be out of status if your application is denied

Talk to your academic advisor about the consequences of withdrawing. Talk to your international student services department so they understand your new immigration situation. Whether you can resume your studies later is up to your school, but they are no immigration obstacles in doing so. You will not need F-1 status to return to school, because you are pending adjustment of status

Yeah talk to your school international department. I don't think it's a good idea to leave the country for any reason until your AP is received.

Yes, don't leave until you have the AP. I lost status that way and 8 years later I'm still trying to get back.
