  • Income question during interview

I filed for my wife last year(2016) and we will be having the interview next month. When i filed, i submitted my income taxes for 2015,2014,2013 and current pay stubs at that time. In 2017,I now have a new tax return which is a JOINT tax return for 2016 and reported income in line 22 of form 1040 is about 55,000. That is the most current tax return.
The issue now is that;in December, 2016, i was laid off. I received unemployment from Jan to April totaling almost $8,000 and from May till now, i have been driving for Uber/Lyft as an independent contractor and have made almost $9000.And honestly, i prefer the Uber and Lyft for now because it works for my school schedule.
The interview letter we received mentioned:
"completed affidavit of support ( form i864) with all required evidence, including the following for each of your sponsors ( unless already submitted)
    (a) federal income tax returns and W2, or certified IRS printouts for most recent tax yr
    (b) letters from each current employer, verifying current rate of pay and average weekly hours, and pay stubs for past 2 mths"

    Question:
Do i still have to go to the interview with (a) and (b) since i already turned in that last year?
note: uber/lyft won't give letters and don't have pay stubs because they don't consider drivers employees. But i can print out statements.

During your interview were you asked about current income?

You need most recent tax return. That means the tax return 2016 filed in 2017.

it is not a requirement to bring pay stubs or employer letter but it never hurts to have them.

My io said the same thing, he asked my why i only brought 1 month bank statement, he said is not neccesary, but it wouldn't hurt to bring more, he aproved us 3 hours later online, bring whatever you have on hand, give it to the io and if he deem it worthy them he will keep it and increase ur chances.
