  • Upcoming interview NEWARK, NJ

    Hi guys,

I have my interview coming up next week. I'm getting a little bit stressed out.
My PD is Feb 14th. So around 11 months wait time.

The documents I'm taking with me:
    1. Joint car insurance
    2. Joint renters insurance
    3. Wedding invitation plus copies of all wedding cards we got
    4. Apartment lease in both our names plus extension for another year
    5. Joint phone bills
    6. Trips - hotel reservations, flight tickets, tickets from places we went to while on vacation like museums etc.
Including a trip to my country.
    7. AMEX credit card statements - joint
    8. Gas & Electric bills in both our names
    9. Joint checking account
    10. Joint savings account statements
    11. Document stating he is a beneficiary on my personal checking & savings account
    12. Document stating I am a beneficiary on his personal savings account
    13. Joint Costco credit card statements
    14. Wedding Photo Book
    15. Another photo album with around 100 pictures from the beginning of our relationship to that point
    16. Letters confirming our employments. Do I need to bring copies of checks as well or letters are sufficient?

I also am bringing originals of our birth certificates, my SS number, my work authorization/advance parole card,
original of his naturalization certificate, my both passports- expired and the new one, our DLs, my I-94 and copies of all these documents.
As well as copies of forms I sent to apply.

    Anything else I need guys?

If you have any experiences from Newark, NJ and can share it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help in advance!

No New Jersey experience but I think you have plenty. Not sure what you intend to accomplish with (16).

No experience from Newark, NJ. I am in the Midwest. It looks great. You have solid evidence of financial ties. I would throw in showing you are both beneficiaries on each other's 401K.
It's also important that paychecks or part of them are deposited into the joint checking account. One last thing, don't forget NJ driver's licenses do not meet REAL ID Act of 2005 requirements. Technically, NJ has an extension but he should probably bring his US passport or passport card anyhow.
I'd say yes to bringing most recent paystubs. Why not?

      Best of luck!

He was unemployed when we applied so he needs a proof of employment. They ask for that.

Yeah, of course. It goes without saying. Just forget to put it in.

We don't have 401K. He added me to his checking account which lists me as a joint owner. He puts all his checks there.

I think you have solid evidence your marriage is real. Nice job organizing that package. Now put on your best smile that day and let us know how it goes.

            Best of luck!
