Family based adjustement of Status

Thanks to previous posters. Lot's of useful info to be found.

Here's my filing:

Marriage-based AOS to USC - Concurrent filing for 485/130/131/765. We live in Brooklyn, NY

02-28-18 - Priority date.
03-10-18 - 4 I-797 NOA letters - by mail.
03-26-18 - RFIE for I-864 (stupid mistake by me unfortunately. I filed the EZ form which I was eligible to but missed one box to check. *Sigh*)
04-06-18 - We received RFIE for i-485
04-12-18 - Fingerprints review completed we work on i-485 and i-765

I have a job offer which of course require me to receive my EAD.
Is sending an expedite request really useful? Many people tell me in my case it's useless.
I was on a work related visa E1 until March but lost that job and the visa too.
My wife is working and we get by but the wait is exhausting and I also don't want to miss out on that job as it would get us to the West Coast.

My PD is February 26th and i haven?t received anything yet. I sent an expedite request on July 3rd and all I have received is a letter saying my case is under review.

My PD is 2/14 we are on the same boat, I haven?t received no interview, no EAD and no AP, I have tried SR, inquiries, and infopass and nothing, always with ?case still under processing times? last week on 7/12 I expedite for my AP, so just waiting for a response.

My PD is 2/22 and my EAD card was approved last week. I shall be receiving it tomorrow. You will soon hear something if your application was complete.

Hi, I am a march end filer, and keeping track of this thread to know where I stand on my EAD processing. My current visa end date is not very close but it is approaching. Has anyone from Feb especially end of February received your EAD yet ( marriage based )? Thanks and good luck.

1. City applied El Paso Tx - Send documents

2. 2/25/2018 We received texts message (confirmation)

3. 03/03/2018 We Received letter for biometrics date 3/21/2018

4. We did a walk in 3/12/2018

5. 3/15/2018 We received a RFE with 3/12/2018 date for I485 asking for more information about Husband income

6. 3/15/2018 We send the RFE back

7. 3/22/2018 We Received an email on the account that they have received the RFE

8. 4/ 5/2018 We received an email 'We reviewed your biometrics and are still processing your case"

9. 4/17/2018 We check the status on the USCIS website and it says that "As of April 8, 2018, we completed our review of your fingerprints and are working on your Form I-765"

10. 4/19/2018 We received an email ?We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time?

11. 5/22/2018 We raised a SR online

12. 6/11/2018 SR completed "At this time your case is still at normal processing times"

13 7/09/2018 No updates on EAD/AP or Interview

Thats all we got so far, we haven't received no more emails, NOA, or any letters in the mail.
So far 146 days long

Any advice because we need to travel in September for our religious wedding and honeymoon

I honeslty don't know what is going on with the people at USCIS because today I noticed underneath my i765 status that it was assigned to an officer on 29th of June and the officer completed the case. It's strange because I had received, "card in production" status on 2nd of June. Very weird. I guess maybe some employees aren't doing their work because they aren't supervised closely.
SR's seem to be a waste of time.

This...Kaylip is correct, I am sure their spouse did not file ?single?. I apologize for confusing people, I use the word joint as filing married which is not the correct tax terminology. ?Joint? as in your spouse name is on the taxes but even as MFS, my bad for mixing people up.

There was no confusion. I understood what you meant. You clearly meant MFS. You had already stated that earlier.

I don't see where is the major red flag... there a million reason why someone would file single being married, knowing that you will lose money. In my case for example, I had not worked that year, did not have an SSN, so to use TurboTax the only option was to do married separately but since I didnt have SSN it couldnt not be done electronically. Since she wouldnt lose that much money, we didnt bother go through that pain.

I think cataloguing it as MASSIVE or MAJOR redflag is being quite dramatic....

By law you are not supposed to file single if you were married the year you are filing. There are two options Married filing seperately or married filing Jointly. USCIS prefers married filing jointly unless there is a valid reason why couple filed separately.

Something called the law for one. USCIS likes people who follow the law. Next, USCIS officer will basically give you zero chance of an approval on the spot if you cannot show joint taxes, so you are delaying your entire process because you wanted to file electronically vs doing a paper submission.

Joint taxes isn't a red flag or would deny a case with AOS because they already know of the limitations of the intending immigrant's status. Every petitioner whether marriage based or not, HAS to file their taxes and send them in as proof that they are paying them as it is a requirement for the I864. Jointly or not. Even at my interview the IO told us that joint finances is imperative when filing I751 and the immigration officer even gave us a list of what they would expect when I file I751.
This forum is very useful but a lot of users exaggerate on interview requirements. It's good to be overly prepared but to disrupt your life and future just to please an interviewing officer means that your marriage is ALMOST genuine and not fully genuine. Once that couple has other concrete evidence of their relationship then lacking in one area shouldn't be a problem.
For e.g everyone including relatives of mine were saying that we need a joint bank account and joint bills but my husband and I decided not to stress too much on it since we were having a hard time getting those. My husband said was like, we are real and we have other evidences of relationship and don't worry about it. The officer just asked 2 questions and only wanted 3 documents.
What I will say though is that proof of living together is mandatory because even though we sent in renter's insurance and lease he wanted an updated one.

Hey! I just realize that my husband?s CPA did his taxes without my name 😫. Is it fixable? And If when I have my interview could I bring it in revised jointed tax return? Do you think it?s going to minimize our mistake?

Yes fixable and yes final tax transcript will be requested at interview. He has a CPA, ask the CPA to help you get a SSN/ITIN now. Fixing it will be fine. Going to an interview totally thinking you are in the right not a good idea.
