Question - For those who successfully raised a SR, may I ask how the requests were made? Should I choose something other than "Case outside normal processing time"? Many thanks in advance!

    ------------------------------------------------
    Marriage-based AOS - concurrent filing
2/16/2018 - package sent to USCIS
    2/20/2018 - priority date
    3/5/2018 - NOA received
    3/22/2018 - Biometrics appointment
4/4/2018 - online status changed to "We reviewed your biometrics and are still processing your case"...
I just did the same like half an hour ago and it gave me the same message. Smh. My case is 96 day in already.

How do you put the timeline signature so it can show on ever message I reply to?

    Update - 2/20/18 PD

Day 98 - No interview yet
    I have received EAD.

Anyone not file for AP at the time of concurrent filing? Wondering what your experience of filing your AP and EAD separately. Trying to see if it's worth filing. I want to travel in July but if it's a long process i'll just push my travelling back.

    Interview completed

    Here is my updated timeline
City applied from - Washington DC
    USCIS Lockbox - Chicago, IL
Docs Received by USCIS - 2/14/18
    Checks cashed: 2/22
    NOA received: 2/26
Biometrics Appointment: 3/15 (did early walk-in on 3/06)
    Interview Notice: 4/19 (received 4/26)
    Interview completed: 5/24 (Fairfax VA)

My interview was quite relaxed. The officer asked the usual questions: what are your in-laws names? What is your spouse?s date of birth? How did you meet? He also asked us to walk through our timeline. He said halfway through that he didn?t care about a lot of our evidence because \?if you seemed suspicious, I would have made you come back for another interview \?
This put us at ease. He then walked through all the standard questions about whether I have been arrested, committed crimes etc all of which I answered no to. He took very little of our evidence saying they had limited space. We had come prepared with a large binder organized with documents and pictures.
He concluded the interview and asked if we had any questions. I asked what happens next. He said we would receive the Green card in 30 days or so. (He never explicitly said we are approved.. so we walked away a little confused). But overall seemed positive

Our interview was very interesting. So both my husband and I are very chill people and we weren't so anxious for it beforehand.
Our Field Office is huge and we were told there were close to 50 officers working there. Most officers looked very friendly and personable....
Until we met ours. We got the vibe that he's just an extremely serious person. We got all the regular questions..how we met, where we met blah blah.. the officer just kept asking "and then what happened?" We went through our entire 3 year dating timeline, and showed officer some pictures. He took our affidavits and holiday cards from family&friends, and some updated bills.
In the very end the very serious officer cracked a joke so we got a pretty good feeling. The interview was a lot longer than I thought it'd be(~30 minutes)

Congratulations! You went through your entire 3 year dating timeline? Did you have it in front of you? I don't think I could regurgitate all events in the correct order. You said the ISO took "updated bills". Thus, you had sent plenty of evidence with your AOS package?

It's called USCIS Case. It's an American flag in the shape of the country. It's on Google play store. Not sure if it's on iOS App store.

Is this app reliable? Both the old and the new "check your case" accounts are so and so. In my case, both are not fully updated.

Totally agree, majority of those people whining are F1 or some OPT visa who are trying to rush jumping hoops. They are not renewing anything. The true EAD has 6 months auto renewal. They should renew their old EAD under previous than do AOS. Or just wait the full time like rest of us.

Also anyone trying to force a expedite/renewal before ?ready to schedule stage, background check done?. Is really pushing hard these days based on how backlogged and bitter USCIS is. The calling daily or hope for 45day ead/ap days seem well gone.
USCIS did a pilot - DORA. It started out as the Dallas Office Rapid Adjudication pilot. Then, evolved into the District Office Rapid Adjudication Pilot.
The idea behind it was great. There were weinkles that needed to be ironed out. In essence, family based AOS applicants would make an appointment at the field Office, bring all their forms and evidence. They would meet with a ISO who would review all materials and determine they were complete and could be accepted. So at this point, they would determine (basic) eligibility. Then, they would have the interview. If the interview was a success, then the applicant would step over to the biometrics area. Fingerprints were taken and background checks would start then. Around 75 to 90 days later green card would arrive in the mail.

The major field offices were able to clear a good part of the backlog. There were issues, though.

Issue #1 and we see this one here. Those who filed through DORA would get their green cards within 90 days. In the mean time, there were people who had been waiting for years.

Issue #2 well, can you guess? Securing an infopass appointment became a bottleneck. So at that point people were allowed to either mail the AOS package OR do it in person.

Issue #3 - having the option to file by mail or in person did help with the bottleneck. BUT USCIS announced it was time to raise their fees again, and the infopass situation became total pandemonium.

The New York field office was very reluctant to get on Board. Eventually, it did. But instead of following the DORA workflow or a variation of it; simply told everyone at the field office ?ok, we?te Not doing that. Let?s just get everything done within 90 days, and it will be just as good as the DORA pilot?

Well, that proved to be flat out stupid. The same way that issuing interim benefits to people who may or may not qualify after everything is said and done, is also redundant. A lot of people file to buy themselves some time. Then abandon those applications, which further clutters the system.

How did it get so cluttered? Well, the EAD/AP combo card is a new thing. They used to be two separate items. So USCIS tried to relief congestion by focusing on producing two temporary documents; instead of adjudicating green card applications. It?s a 2:1 ratio and then you still have to circle back to the green card.

Another flaw was that if you didn?t qualify for benefits, there was no follow through. Initially, folks were not even fingerprinted - ummm... scary thought.

I don?t know if the whole employment glitch is intentional. I know that for DORA they used one of the E visa designations to process them quickly. It?s a visa that is not issued anymore, but the build was already in the system, so they used it. It?s possible this employment glitch is related to that.

And let?s go back to the basics, we all had to fill out a I-864. So going without EAD for 6 months -if that means decluttering the system- should be OK, right?

Don't worry too much. I donwloaded this app where I can follow other cases and as you can see with this particular one their case was being reviewed and they have their greencard. It was under review for about a week or 2!
