I think you can sign something at the post office requesting that they hold any certified mail from USCIS that has a signature requirement.

I have noticed on two occasions that these interview notices were not scanned by USPS informed delivery for two people in the forum. It might be worth considering whether you (or any of us) should get a Private Mailbox at the UPS store. There is always someone there to sign for your mail.
Something to think about well I?ll see the best way to get to it before it gives me that update of been returned thanks a lot for your positive information

Why do you think the USPS return the notice and not deliver it to address what?s the cause for that?

USCIS started mailing secure documents with a signature requirement upon delivery. There was an update about that on April 27th. It started sometimes before that. It?s a good thing. At one point too many people were not getting their notices. At least this way, you?ll know something is up through one of your accounts IF those update, of course.

    checks cashed: 02/16
    bio metrics done: 03/05
received courtesy letter for I-693: 03/16
04/21 " Us Postal service could not deliver a notice we sent"
04/23 I talked to a level 2 officer to see if they could tell me what had been sent on the mail. He said it is an interview appointment for May 11th.
5/01 Official letter for appointment received
5/11 Interview done, recommended for approval on spot
5/11 later that day status changed to " We are producing your card and will mail it to you"
5/14 " we approved your case" on both I-130 and I-485
    5/17- received I-797 Approval notice for I-130 and 485
5/18- " we have mailed your card. USPS will deliver it to you"
5/18- informed delivery on USPS shows tracking number for the card, expected delivery date on 5/21

We never received EAD and didn't apply for AP. Case status still shows " we received your case"
note: i came on B1/B2 visa and was not out of status when we applied, actually if it gets here on time, my GC will be delivered a few days before me going out of status

It seems the people who received the EAD card were all expedited with USCIS. Is there anyone who didn't expedite and still received the EAD?

    Hey guys,

I had my green card interview yesterday and I wanted to share my experience. I live in Chicago and went to the Chicago Field office. Waited for about 20 minutes until the fire alarm went off and everyone had to leave the building. We got back in about 20 minutes later. Was called in for the interview about 2 hours after we had initially arrived. We had a brand new IO, and in the room was another IO who was observing. The IO asked for our birth certificates, ID's, passports, etc. Then he proceeded to ask me (applicant) questions about I-485. What's your full name? Where were you born? What's your current address? When last did you enter the country? How did you come to the country? What's my current job? What's my father's name? And then he went on to ask me the Yes/No questions on the I-485. He then asked my husband questions on his I-130. Where was he born? What does he do? What's his address? Do we have recent tax returns? (We had filed jointly for the first time this year). He then asked about his mother who was the joint sponsor. Then he asked for any other supporting evidence. And finally asked how we met and who proposed. We then chatted about people submitting outdated medical forms, and he said that our file looked pretty good, and that a decision will be made at the end of this week. Both officers then explained that I had to keep an eye out for when my GC would expire because I need to apply for a new one 90 days before it expires. They made it seem like everything was good and that we should get approved soon. Fingers crossed we have a decision by Friday. I'm an F-1 student and my OPT expires on June 14th so I really hope that I will have it before then. Oh! I also asked about the EAD and the observing officer said that that office was running very behind and that things that take 2.5 are now taking 6 months and that I would get my GC before my EAD. I keep frantically checking my email and my case status online for a decision. Let's hope all goes well.

    Thanks!
Congratulations! I think it all went very well for you. You will get an update soon enough.

    Best.

If it's the question I am thinking of, we entered "I-485 pending". After several immihelp/google searches, that's what made the most sense. My spouse was out of status already at that point.

8 months before I got married. I should have returned November of 2016 but was married in July of 2017.

Before getting married and filing for my green card I was here on a B2 travel visa. Overstayed. Now that I have my EAD, can I travel to Jamaica to visit my mother?
