  • Case Transferred to another office

    Hello Everyone,

Today I received (March 2018) Notice of "case transferred to another office". Does anyone have an idea why this happened or any previous experience? Myself and all dependents got the same status uipdate.

    History:
    Nebraska- Current priorety date, EB2
    AOR: Nov 2017
    Biometric letter: Dec 2017
    Biometric: Dec 2017

I'm also on the same boat.

    I-485 [EB1B]
    Case received: Nov 7, 2017
    Biometrics Appointment: Dec 20, 2017
"Case transferred to another office" online status: Mar 15, 2018

Will the interview now be held only after Oct 1, 2018, since EB1 cases are in retrogression from Apr 2018? [The passport of my wife & son expires by end of Sept, 2018 to complicate matters!]

In my opinion is a good sign showing that your case is moving forword.

Hi My EB2 received in September 17.
        Biometrics 11/14
Case was transferred once from Nebraska to NBC (02/26) and 2 days after again back to Nebraska at 02.28. It was stated at the first transfer: to speed up the process. So I'm wondering what was the reason for return it back to NSC just 2 days after? No EAD. I guess our employment based interviews (filling periods Sep-Dec 17) will be in 6-8 month. Hope that we can get our EAD at least soon

They do that in order to balance caseloads among service centers. From the looks of it, it's likely a centralized queue and the system does that in an attempt to keep up with expected adjudication times. I'm speculating, of course, but I can't imagine someone manually doing it.
