  • Tricky question on I-485

    Hello,
There is a tricky question on I 485. - "Have you ever worked in the US without Authorization?" So, if the person is here from one of those not very rich countries, on tourist visa, come and go every 6 months or so, if she says "No" will they believe her? And if she says "Yes" is that answer might prevent her from being approved? Although some people say they answered "yes" and they were approved, but who knows whether they are telling the truth.
    Thank you

    Thank you
You did not mention if your AOS is based on marriage to a US citizen. If that is the case, any unauthorized work is forgiven. The question whether to disclose that or not, comes up in the forum every so often. The consensus is to be 100% truthful. It won't impact your I-485 application one way or another.

    All the best.
