  • Can This Be True?

Since this morning, after reading this article (I will leave the link below) I?ve been feeling terrible. Of course this doesn?t mean that everybody will be treated the same but can?t stop myself to feel ?what if they do this to me??

Here is the article that I read today.

I have a question on this thing. God forbid, this happened to somebody. Do you guys think that this person will have time to apply for asylum with a real reason?

Thanks for answers in advance and wishing everyone good luck. I just hope that this article is just a lie 😔

I read a similar article in the NY Times last week. Yes it is happening. ICE is looking to get as many deportations as possible to please their political masters Trump and Sessions.

So, can I ask your opinion about my question? I have a reason for asylum. God forbid if something happens, do you think I can apply for asylum?

Yes, I believe the law on asylum requires that every claim be adjudicated. What this administration is doing though is detaining asylum seekers until their cases are decided either by a judge or a IO, They think this puts pressure on the asylum seekers to leave voluntarily than be detained for as long as it take their cases to be decided.

          Thank you for answer.

This is so unbelievable. Finally getting married (same sex marriage isn?t legal in my country), found a man that I want to live forever but it is so funny that whoever is doing this do not want people to be together. This is just so sad.

How do we know if there?s an order of removal on somebody?s name? Is there any way to check it?

Several months ago, someone in the AOS forum posted a link on how to check if one has a deportation order. I can't find the thread but I bookmarked the link:

"The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) established an electronic phone system to provide EOIR's customers with ready access to immigration court information..."

"To access case information, callers must use the alien registration number, which begins with the letter A and is followed by an 8- or 9-digit number. After entering the automated phone system, when directed by the voice prompt, enter the 9 digits (but not the letter A) to retrieve case information. If the A number has 8 digits, please enter zero (0) followed by the 8 digits."

I haven't tried it yet. Hope it helps.
