  • Text notification?

The tracking on my green card application package says it arrived on Monday but I haven't received the text or email notification from the USCIS. I included the form to request that they text or email me when they received it.

How long does that part normally take? Do you think they just haven't opened it yet?

The notifications aren't totally reliable in my experience

I dont think they text/email when they receive your package. They text/email only after generating a receipt number for you. You usually get receipt number in text/email and mail.

Ok thanks that makes me feel a bit better. How long did it take for you before they gave you that receipt number?

After 10 calendar days, you can call USCIS national customer service and ask for your receipt numbers. The Level 1 officer will give them to you. If you get a cranky one, then call again.

So I called the USCIS after ten days to get my receipt numbers. They transferred me to someone and then she said it wasn't in the system yet and to try again next week. This has me worried that they didn't receive my application for some reason even though I saw it was received on my tracking.

Sure, it's 10 days +/- a day or two. I would wait a day or two. If you are not in the system yet, then go to this link https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/direc...sing-tip-sheet
Then either scroll down or click on "Application lost during intake"
This is what it says "Application Lost During Intake Process
If applicants or their representatives have any specific cases where they believe something was lost by a Lockbox facility, please provide details by email to Lockbox Support at lockboxsupport@uscis.dhs.gov and we will investigate."

I found this just by googling "lost application"+"lockbox" +"USCIS"
I realize I gave you the email, but still visit the page. There are other situations listed there. Become familiar with the USCIS website.
