My AOS packet (I-130, 131, 485, 864, & 765) was rejected and returned due to a simple number error on my credit card form. The packet was returned stapled into 11 sections, in an order that looks mostly random to me, with an attached plastic bag holding my photographs, original envelopes, and folders. Of course, there were also the I-797C notices and the green form. Do I resubmit this EXACTLY how I received it with the fees corrected (staples, weird order, plastic bag, & all) or do I go back and re-order everything to how USCIS requested it in the first submission? The USCIS website for original filing specifically says no staples, to clearly separate each application, and include cover letters, so I don't want to mess this up again by returning what they sent back to me if it's wrong. The only reliable info I can find about refiling is to return the original documents with the stamps now on them, and put the green paper on top. Nothing out there about the order, and no instructions on the 797 either. Help is appreciated! If anyone has been in a similar situation and returned their packet one of these ways, did it work?

1. Carefully remove all those staples. Assemble the package as outlined on the "Filing tips" page. https://www.uscis.gov/forms-filing-tips
2. Check the edition date of every form you submitted. By now, one of the forms may be outdated. You can sign up for updates here. https://www.uscis.gov/forms-updates. (You won't get previous updates. You will just have to check each form. The edition date is what determines whether the form is outdated.)
3. If you did not submit ALL evidence of bona fide marriage with your AOS package as indicated on the I-130 instructions (page 3/12) https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/...i-130instr.pdf, then peruse the information contained in this link https://www.immihelp.com/forum/showt...iew-tips/page4 and make sure you go through my Table of contents - found here https://www.immihelp.com/forum/showt...656#post564656 AND the Table of Contents that I used as a guide - found here https://www.immihelp.com/forum/showt...ocuments/page4
The table of contents are posted on several entries - you can only attach 5 images max.
4. Triple check the I-864. Common errors:
a. Petitioner fails to file I-864 because his/her income does not meet requirements. Petitioner is the default sponsor and must fill out and sign the I-864.
b. counting a household member twice when determining household size. *The form states "PERSONS NOT SPONSORED ON THIS FORM" Then asks if married. You would leave the spouse field blank because you are sponsoring your spouse.
5. Either use a personal check or cashier's check. The credit card form is too new. The people in the mail room are human robots with tunnel vision.
6. I do not see the I-130A listed. Supplemental Information for Spouse Beneficiary. That must be filled out.
7. Hold off on the I-693. You have one year to submit it from the date the exam is completed. Then, it remains valid for 1 year for adjudication purposes from the date it is received by USCIS. Thus, if you send it right away, you're using up that one year window right away.
All the best,
USCFFS

Hi there I read a reply to a post you had with this same issue but I hope you could help me with my case because mine is a little more specific and I have a few more questions. My wife is a K-1 I got her green card no problem . Files the initial petition with a I-129f. Her children also received their visas but the problem is when I filed for the k-2 AOS Their application was rejected and sent back. The information they requested is the form I-130 or the I-797 that shows it has been accepted/approved. But I never filed that paper. And I specifically checked the box that shows that we are family based with an I-129f.
They also opened the medical package do I need to get another (I hope not)
The section asking for underlying petition that's thebI129f right of so that's what I put .. I am really thinking they made a mistake because I included everything on their list from their website and more . If you have some insight on this and help me it would be great
