My I-485 application was submitted January of 2017 as family based, and I received a date for my interview on August of 2017. When I showed up at the interview that day, the USCIS Officer told me the interview cannot happen because the Service Center still hasn't sent the required documentation yet. I was told that I will be receiving another letter shortly that will include the new interview schedule.

Ever since that day, I have not heard anything from USCIS and the USCIS Online Case Status still shows the same "Interview Is Scheduled" status without any change. It's been the same for about 10 months now.

What can I do at this point?

This is USCIS error and they have to rectify it. You have grounds to reach out to your Senator, and have them shake the tree. Do not be afraid to do so.
