  • What to show to the employer while awaiting for your EAD renewal?

Hi everyone! So my EAD is about to expire in November. Had my interview a little over a month ago, no desission yet. Filed EAD renewal 2 weeks ago. What should I
Show to my employer as a proof of that I?m eligible to continue working?

I was about to ask the same question! I am waiting for interview and filed EAD renewal last week. Did you get the receipt of EAD renewal from USCIS? If I remember it correctly someone said the receipt can be shown to employer for legal work authorization. I was wondering if there are some words on renewal receipt to state that.
    PD: 08/30/2017

11/14/2017, I-765 status was changed to "New card is being produced".
11/16/2017, I-765 status was changed to "Card was Mailed To Me".
11/18/2017, Approval notices were received in mail for I-765 and 1-131. they would be valid for one year.
    11/20/2017, Combo card was delivered.
    09/06/2018, EAD renewal was received.
    09/17/2018, Fingerprint Review was completed.
    11/19/2018, Interview was scheduled.

What kind of EAD do you have? (i.e. what did you get an EAD based on? what is the category?)

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

I googled "automatic extension employment authorization". This was the first search result. https://www.uscis.gov/working-united...-ead-extension

You would just show your I-797. That's proof that your renewal application was received. Employers -at least Human Resources staff- know(s) that the NOA is proof of the extension.

Have not received the receipt yet. Please let me know once you receive yours! I just got this job offer and suppose to to bring my ead card in in a few days. I?m afraid the thing that it expires in 1.5 month will mess up the whole hiring process. Hope to get a receipt soon

The expiration date should not have any bearing on the hiring process if you show the receipt. If you read the I-9 employer's manual, you will see how employers are told to proceed. it's good to read it to make sure you are being treated fairly. You can find it on the USCIS website.

Did you file G -1145 ? If not then you will not get text and email notifications. I didn?t file that either which was a mistake. I sent renewal application for I765 on Sep 1st as well.

You're so welcome! You can also do an e-verify self check as outsidebones pointed out. Most folks are uninformed and fear vetting someone who is not authorized for employment. So just make it easier for them to do so.

Yes I sent that form as well. I sent through USPS priority mail. I will track my package once i will go back to home. I am assuming, it would be delivered on wed or on thu because of labor day holiday.

If you have timely filed your EAD renewal (i.e. before existing EAD expires), and if your EAD falls under specific categories of automatic extension (e.g. C(9)) and if your EAD class on your original EAD and renewal application match, and your renewed EAD wont come before existing one expires - then you are covered because your notice serves as automatic extension for 180 days.
