  • RFE and very stressed

Update. Interview was yesterday. 15 minutes, two questions, lots of evidence. Held for review but it was looking really good. Today I got an RFE for the I-130. Hasn't come in the mail yet of course, but I got the notification.

What the heck?????? My lawyer says it's probably because the officer misplaced a doc (maybe the back of the marriage license) or wants certified copies of something (which we brought to the interview, she should have asked then!!) and told us not to worry about it, that's it's more of a problem if it's the I-485 that gets RFE'd and it wasn't.

We are straightforward. No previous marriages, no kids, in our late 20s, living together, etc. My husband has always been in status, we included all entries and travel info, he's never been in trouble and makes decent money.

I don't think it's the validity of the marriage itself a.) because we submitted a lot of evidence and b.) because she didn't really ask us too many questions about that, and nothing weird like "where is the bathroom" and we weren't separated or anything, and our lawyer said we did fine, no red flags.

But obviously I am super stressed. I hope it's because she misplaced something. Anyone else get this??

I guess my own happiness jinxed me

The G-28 is a blue form that you fill out that basically says you can have a lawyer with you. It's called Entry of Appearance. If you file with a lawyer (we did not), they send it in with all the forms. Otherwise if you go to the interview with a lawyer, they hand it in to the officer at the interview, so that they can be in the room with you.

Thankfully that's all it was! We resubmitted the G-28 and just got the approval notice a few minutes ago!!

I am feeling very happy and relieved
