Waiting on biometrics appt/letter

The rep did not ask for any documents over the phone. He just placed the request, gave me the confirmation number and said that I will hear from them in 5 days. From other posts I read, I am assuming that they will email me in 5 days asking for specific documents (job offer, bank statements, bills, etc). So if you are placing the request have all the supporting docs prepared.RoC (I-751) Application, filed from Houston TX

Wow that?s crazy. They must be really backed up. I?m going to call as well because every day I check the mailbox and get disappointedOriginally posted by seattle2903 View PostEveryone, I managed to get someone on the line at USCIS. He checked my files and say that the bio letter has not even been issued yet, so it's not coming in the mail anytime soon. I took advantage of finally getting someone on the line and placed a request to expedite my EAD based on financial hardship and job offer. Got the request number and said I'll hear back in 5 days. Hopefully this will get my bio letter moving.
I think you should all call and ask if your bio letter was even issued yet. If it has been, the rep should be able to tell you when and you can expect it in the mail in like 7 days. If it hasn't been issued yet, it's not coming for at least the next 7 days. Good luck!
Did you know what level of officer you were talking to and can you please message me which number you called to make sure I won?t lose time calling wrong numbers?
Also did they tell you it might be too early to make an expedite request since your PD is not too long ago?Marriage based AOS

You would just call the main USCIS number.Originally posted by gradstudent2018 View PostWow that?s crazy. They must be really backed up. I?m going to call as well because every day I check the mailbox and get disappointed

Expedite requests are not to be confused with SR (Service requests). You may call to expedite at any time after filing for AOS, but you may only submit an SR for cases that are outside processing times.

It was a Level 1, the first rep that picks up. I called the USCIS number *(800) 375-5283. I think this is the only one. He didn?t say anything about being too early. He just asked what?s the reason for the expedite request from that list they have. I said financial hardship and job offer.Originally posted by gradstudent2018 View PostWow that?s crazy. Well everyone, I also called today and there is no appointment arranged for me either. The officer said I have to wait a month after the NOA date but that does not seem to be the case with thousands of other applicants (I didn't tell her that ofcourse
). She did not tell me about the 7 days thing although I tried to specifically ask that. I am not sure if this effects the green card process any how, I read conflicting stories on the internet.
At least I don't have to check the mailbox until next week now
Last but not least I am going to make an expedite request for my EAD a month from now.Marriage based AOS

I'm 99% sure my bio appointment letter in coming in the mail today. Informed Delivery shows an envelope from USCIS coming today and the paper inside is white, so it is not an RFE, which is yellow. My mail is generally delivered around 4pm PT so I still have 4 hours to wait. Fingers crossed it's the bio appt!Originally posted by Angie_CA View PostAny news???RoC (I-751) Application, filed from Houston TX

Yay, me too! Appointment is on October 29 but I will go on Monday. It's too late to go today, unfortunately.Originally posted by gradstudent2018 View PostI got my bio letter ! Appointment on Novmeber 2nd, I think they are back on track finally..
As a side note, please remember to take whatever USCIS reps say over the phone with a grain of salt. The notice date on my bio appt letter is October 12, so that's when they mailed it. I called USCIS 2 days ago, the rep checked my applications and said that no appointment is schedule for me and I have to wait another 30 days. All while the letter already mailed. Anyway, I am happy I got it and I can finally get my bio done and hopefully get my EAD before November 12.RoC (I-751) Application, filed from Houston TX

Finally! They won't care that you're showing up early. I would not even mention it unless it comes up. We strategically placed my husband's passport on top of the appointment notice. The front desk clerk looked at the name on his passport, and verified the name on the letter. Done. We went 6 days early.Originally posted by seattle2903 View PostYay, me too! Great, I'll go on Monday, 7 days before the actual date. May I ask why did your spouse use a passport? I was thinking about bringing my Driver's License. Also, do I need to bring the NOAs for the I-485 and I-765 or just ID and the appointment letter?Originally posted by UScitizenFilingforspouse View PostFinally!
