Interview Cancelled And Notice Ordered

Hello,

I received an email yesterday saying my interview is cancelled which was scheduled for Jan. The email also says case status is "decision".

On USCIS website it says "Interview Cancelled And Notice Ordered".

If you have any idea, please let me know what it means.

It seems like they have come to a decision without bringing you for interview. I would call and inquire about it. Hopefully it's not bad news.

It is impossible to give you any meaningful advice or even a comment with so little information about your case. Call and see what they tell you. Ask for a level 2. It could be a new interview notice. It could be a Notice of Intent to Deny. But again, we cannot guess.

Hi,

I received email saying "interview is cancelled and notice ordered".

December 2017 applied to I485.
November 2019 interview invitation.
3 days later November 2019 interview cancellation...

If you have any idea/experience, please let me know.

phdykd sorry to hear that. Same thing happened to me in August.
August 1 - ready to schedule
August 2 - interview scheduled.
I received the notice in the mail for the actual date on the 5th.
By the 7th, it updated to Interview Cancelled and Notice Ordered. I got the cancellation notice the week after.

I had called in and spoke to a tier 2. She mentioned that this happens when they've scheduled a lot more than applicable for the day and the queue is more than the IO available, etc. Also happens when the FO did not receive all your paperwork from the center you sent it to, etc.
I, of course, asked when the interview is expected to be rescheduled but that, they cannot say then and there. There are some people I've spoken to here that got theirs rescheduled within a week after, and then there's me, who's still waiting.
It also probably affects me that I'm a NYC filer and our FO time estimates are longer than most. Hope you get yours soon.
