  • I really am not taking it for granted at all... I do feel for you guys.. I am grateful don’t get me wrong... but for those who really REALLY need their EAD, I suggest contacting your congressman or senator. When I was in need of the EAD(through daca) it was taking so long that it was gonna cost me my job. I emailed both my congressman and senator. 2 weeks later, my status changed and received my EAD about a week later.

In all honesty, I think what helped me get my EAD so fast is because I already have one(daca ead) it’s due to expire next year...

            • Going along with the birthday theme: Just got a text today that our interview has been scheduled! Will have to wait for the notice to find out the date of interview, but this seems fast given that Los Angeles is currently at 10.5-17.5 months, and we haven't heard anything on our EAD. Anyone know how soon these things get scheduled after getting notice? I'm a bit nervous on the timing since I'll be out of the country for the last two weeks of July for my birthday!

I got the text on the 21st. I haven’t received the mail with the actual date, but to my understanding is around one month and if everything comes out good about another week before the actual GC comes through the mail.

Im really hoping that all comes out good and soon. I really want to take a vacation before finding a job. I overstayed many years and I want my kids to come back to my home country before school begins. Best wishes on your interview!!

                          • I received a notification two days ago that my EAD card is in production! I cried a lot of happy tears and now I just hope it gets here quickly so I can start working again. Note: I expedited my case with a letter to my congressman, alongside a letter from my former employer that they are willing to re-hire me as soon as I get my card and that my absence is hurting the firm's productivity. (EDIT: I worked on my F-1 OPT until my OPT expired May 31). The expedite request was initiated June 11, USCIS routed the case for expedited processing on June 17, and I received the notification that the card is being produced on June 26. I hope everyone gets their documents quickly!

                            • I couldn’t wait for the notice to arrive by mail. So I spoke with a tier 2 official on the phone and they told me that my interview is August 13! So my July vacation out of the country is safe. Crossing my fingers because my visa expires in late August.
