  • Filing for i485 and I130 but I lost my passport?

I have my driver license in Tx, im moving to Oklahoma with my husband and we're going to file for i485 and i130, however I lost my passport and only have copies of it, currently applying for a replacement from my home country embassy but they said it gonna take months. Due to not having passport, I can't transfer my TX DL to Oklahoma DL, can i still file despite differences in address on both of our DL?
I've heard one could apply for DL after getting AED card. Should we file now or wait for my passport replacement, and then change my address on my driver license, and then file i485 and i130?

I do have I94, and photo copies of my lost passport.

Personally, I would not send copies of original documents that I don't have anymore.

My wife lost her passport shortly after filing the forms. When it came down to get her then biometrics, they gave us a hard time because they wouldn?t accept any other form of identification as all she currently has right now is the ones from her country.

As long as you have copies of the i94 which you can get online and a license then I think you should be fine but like someone below said, I would not filed something you don?t have original copies of. We had to drive 10 hours to a different state that was able to give her the passport that same day, rather than wait MONTHS if we had filed for a replacement instate.

I got my new passport after I filled out my form.

But in the same week I went to the Brazilian consulate and renewed that.

My passport is expiring in a few months, I will renew it and bring both to my interview, even a copy of the new one so they can add it to the file if they want. I think I can get a new passport locally same day, so lucky me.
